759 thousand Muscovites cannot leave Russia because of debts

Bailiffs issued 759,000 rulings on a ban on leaving Russia in relation to Moscow residents who have overdue financial obligations. As explained “RIA News” in the main department of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP), citizens can find out about their debts through the State Services.
The FSSP issues orders to restrict travel abroad in cases where the amount of a citizen’s debt for alimony exceeds 10 thousand rubles, and for other payments – 30 thousand rubles.
“As of December 1, officials of the Moscow department issued over 759,000 orders to temporarily restrict debtors from traveling outside the Russian Federation,” the department told the agency.
Since April, this figure has almost tripled – then in the FSSP reported about 235 thousand Muscovites restricted to travel abroad. At the end of December last year, there were 4.6 million citizens throughout Russia who cannot travel abroad because of debts.
