Since June 2022, the amount of payments from the Russian Red Cross (RKK) to refugees from Ukraine and Donbass amounted to almost 186 million rubles. More than 66,000 people received direct payments. This was announced by the head of the RKK Pavel Savchuk.

“More than 66,000 people who ended up in Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Belgorod, Rostov, Penza, Ulyanovsk, Tula, Vladimir regions, as well as in Moscow received payments,” Pavel Savchuk said in an interview “Izvestia”.

Pavel Savchuk added that another 91,000 people received voucher assistance from RKK. According to him, refugees in the Kursk, Belgorod, Voronezh and Rostov regions received 8,700 vouchers to buy clothes, 52,000 to pharmacies, and 31,000 to grocery stores. Mr. Savchuk recalled that vouchers are primarily issued to families with children under seven years of age and with children with disabilities under 18, as well as pensioners.

“The geography of issuing vouchers is quite wide – almost 20 regions. In 2023, it is planned to expand their number to 32,” he said.

Pavel Savchuk also said that more than 640,000 refugees have applied to the RKK for help since February 18, 2022. At the same time, according to him, in 2014-2015, about 400 thousand people applied to the RKK.

“This year, the majority of refugees and displaced persons, almost 62%, were in need of humanitarian assistance: hygiene items and basic necessities, clothing, food and much more,” he added.

By information TASS, from February 2022 to January 2023, more than 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine and Donbass arrived in Russia. The amount of material assistance for them amounted to more than 12 billion rubles.
