609 billion rubles will be required to create a Russian orbital station – Kommersant

Work on the creation of a Russian orbital station, which is planned until 2032, is estimated at 609 billion rubles. This was announced by Roscosmos General Director Yuri Borisov.
“We have estimated this work until 2032 at approximately 609 billion rubles. The first three years of work, meaning 2024–2026, will require about 150 billion rubles,” Mr. Borisov said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel (quoted by Interfax).
Yuri Borisov noted that Roscosmos now faces an important task – to establish serial production of satellites, since the current rate of production of spacecraft in Russia is significantly lower than that of world powers. According to Mr. Borisov, the Russian orbital constellation will consist of approximately 3 thousand spacecraft by 2035–2036, while the global constellation will have 60–70 thousand satellites.
“The leading powers took care of this ahead of time and created mass production lines. In the USA, according to our estimates, production capacity allows us to create about 3 thousand devices per year, and we only make it 40. Here’s a comparison. Uncompetitive. Therefore, we are faced with a huge task – to turn the situation around, move to a new industrial model that will allow us to mass-produce the required number of satellites that the country needs,” the head of Roscosmos emphasized.
It is assumed that the first module of the Russian orbital station will be launched in 2027, and cosmonauts will be sent to it in 2028. Yuri Borisov promised that the station would be completed by 2032.
