Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that the authorities will allocate about 600 billion rubles to create a super-heavy rocket for flights to the Moon and Mars. The project is planned to be launched in 2025.

“The passport of the federal project was approved by the decision of the governing council of the state program of the Russian Federation “Russian Space Activities” last year. According to preliminary estimates, the volume of budget funding for the federal project will be about 600 billion rubles,” Mr. Manturov told reporters (quoted from “Interfax”).

As the Deputy Prime Minister clarified, the creation of the rocket complex is planned to be carried out at the Vostochny cosmodrome as part of the federal project “Creation of a super-heavy class space rocket complex” of the state program “Russian Space Activities”. The project will be implemented from 2025 to 2035, with the first flight tests expected in 2033.

Denis Manturov also said that the launch of the Start-1M conversion launch vehicle is planned for 2026, and the Amur-LNG reusable methane rocket for 2030. In 2024, he said, Russia will launch 123 spacecraft.

The day before, the Angara-A5 rocket was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on the third attempt. “Roscosmos” reportedthat the Orion upper stage completely completed the mission and launched the Gagarinets satellite into low-Earth orbit. The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, said that the first two launches were canceled due to a failure of the pressurization system of the oxidizer tank of the central unit and a failure in the engine start control system.
