46 thousand cases of coronavirus infection detected in Russia

According to operational headquarters, over the past day in Russia, 46,452 cases of infection with COVID-19 were registered – this is the maximum figure since March 12. Then 48,154 cases were detected in the country. During the day, 3,912 people were hospitalized in Russia. 81 people have died – the most since June 4. Previously, the number of people infected with coronavirus amounted to 43 919.

The leading regions in terms of the number of infections as of August 25:

• Moscow – 7602,
• St. Petersburg – 4435,
• Moscow region – 2879,
• Rostov region – 1293,
• Perm Territory – 1193,
• Samara region – 1078,
• Nizhny Novgorod region – 1074,
• Krasnoyarsk Territory – 1021

Against the backdrop of an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia, Rospotrebnadzor advised the return of the mask regime in regions where the incidence exceeds 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Now recommended mask mode valid in six regions of Russia – Tatarstan, Dagestan, Gorny Altai, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Vologda and Novosibirsk regions. Gamaleya Center developed a version of the Sputnik V vaccine adapted to treat the delta and omicron coronavirus strains.
