400 athletes registered for the Sakhalin ski marathon in memory of Farkhutdinov

Registration for the 25th Sakhalin Ski Marathon in memory of I.P. 400 athletes from more than 20 regions of the country have already passed Farkhutdinov. Participants from Belarus, Kazakhstan and China are also expected, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports reported.

The competition will take place on March 8 and 9, 2024. For the first time in 25 years, the organizers will include not only free style, but also classical style. According to the director of the marathon and the head of the SShOR winter sports Mikhail Shamsutdinov, the organizers intend to make the anniversary competition a big sports festival, and preparations for it are already in full swing.

“One of the important points is the road closure in the start area. It, like last year, will take place in the village of Lesnoye, Korsakov urban district. Since there are a lot of people, you want to avoid congestion of vehicles and people. We will organize buses for this purpose. Their departure will be organized from Victory Square. We are also preparing a festive program for city residents and participants. The finish will take place in the city park. There will be a flower awards ceremony, awards for the winners of the first day of the competition and performances by creative teams,” he noted.

The issuance of starting numbers will begin on March 5. To be admitted to the competition, participants must provide a package of documents, which includes a medical certificate, a copy of their passport and insurance.

Sakhalin ski marathon in memory of I.P. Farkhutdinova is included in the list of 29 unique sporting events of Russialoppet. Its distinctive feature is a 50-meter distance running through the mountain range and along the seashore. The organizers of the marathon are the government of the Sakhalin region, the regional ministry of sports, the sports training center, the SShOR winter sports, Russialoppet.
