At least 21 people have died from a mysterious illness in northeast Afghanistan, on the border with Tajikistan and Pakistan. The Daily Mail writes about it.
The disease has spread in the Pamir region, Vakhan region. Experts were sent there to study the nature of the disease.
The Afghanistan Times writes that there is little information about the disease, but it is similar to the coronavirus. The first deaths were recorded two weeks ago.
It is also noted that Wakhan is a sparsely populated territory, it includes the Pamir Mountains.
Earlier in Afghanistan there were outbreaks of cholera and polio, and cases of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever were also reported.
