Representatives of 21 out of 25 parties have already registered for the elections, which will be held on a single voting day on September 10, Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), said. In total, according to her, 125 candidates were nominated, 94 were registered from political parties.
“Out of 25 parties that nominated their candidates, representatives of 21 parties were registered. Good indicator. This is more than 90%, the total number of registration refusals will become known after August 17. In total, we have 125 candidates nominated in the elections, 94 candidates from political parties have been registered,” said Ms. Pamfilova (quoted by TASS). The head of the CEC specified that 29 people lost the status of nominated candidates.
The CEC Chairperson noted that 446,904 residents of Russian regions have already submitted applications for their desire to participate in remote electronic voting (DEG). 50,962 people intend to vote at their place of residence, Mrs. Pamfilova specified.
Elections of governors, local parliaments and by-elections of deputies of the State Duma will be held in Russia on September 8-10 (a single voting day is scheduled for September 10). In particular, for the first time elections will be held for regional legislative assemblies in the new regions of the country — in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The heads of these entities will also be elected by voting in parliaments.
