In the city of Ivanovo on July 1, a half-marathon “Red Thread” was held, uniting runners and athletics from the Ivanovo region and neighboring regions. This marathon is traditional and has been held in Ivanovo for several years. 2023 was no exception, a month before the half marathon the city was ready to host it.
With the assistance of many structures, the sports city prepared for the residents of Ivanovo and neighboring regions was a success. According to the head of the city of Ivanovo Vladimir Sharypov, about 2,000 athletes, from veterans of track and field athletics to very young runners, came to the start in the half marathon “Red Thread”.
Participants competed at distances of 5, 10 and 21 km. For children, 300 and 600 meters were prepared.
