16-year-old resident arrested for large-scale fraud

Ostap Bender in the novel “The Twelve Chairs” was 27 years old, criminal adventurer Sofia Blueshtein, known to everyone under the nickname “Sonka the Golden Hand”, – about 20. But the modern follower of their dirty deeds, a resident of the capital, at the age of 16, seems to have surpassed these schemers.

According to forged documents, the boy took ownership of the apartments, and then sold them.

How did he pull off such big deals before he was of legal age?

It’s all about modern online technologies. The guy forged documents, payments, electronic signatures. Since he lived alone, without parents, he managed to go through the emancipation procedure. The young man was recognized as fully capable, and he was able to make transactions without the consent of his parents or guardians. During the transaction, he provided the entire package of documents.

The mechanism was not complicated: the developers received payment receipts for the purchase of housing, certified by electronic signatures. As it turned out later, this money never arrived at the bank.

As the investigation established, in a few months the boy executed contracts for the sale of 15 apartments. He was detained before he was going to take ownership of an expensive foreign car. The total damage from crimes exceeded 79 million rubles.

For fraud on an especially large scale, the young man was sentenced to three years probation. All properties have been returned to developers and sellers.
