15 Vologda athletes received city scholarships

Since 2012, city scholarships have been provided to the best athletes in the regional capital. Vologda residents over 14 years old can receive cash incentives. This year, the presentation of prizes was combined with the awarding of the Vologda team. Vologda residents took third place at the winter sports contest of the Union of Cities of the Center and North-West of Russia.
Every year, the budget allocates 1.8 million rubles to pay scholarships to the best athletes. This year, 15 people received financial incentives. Athletes have the right to participate in the competitive selection if they have won major competitions.
One of the recipients was Eva Saikina. She has been skiing for nine years. Another scholarship recipient was speed skater Maxim Volkov. He has devoted seven years to the sport. Vologda resident Daniil Roslyakov was among those awarded. The athlete is a two-time winner of the Russian relay championship.
