14 tons of dangerous products were found in the stores of the Svetofor network: they traded in delay

Store owners fined more than 4 million rubles

A number of violations dangerous to the health of buyers were identified by inspectors from Rospotrebnadzor in a popular Moscow supermarket chain. In stores, they traded in delays, thawed food that should have been frozen, allowed flies to crawl on food products, and so on.

As MK found out, an inspection by the capital’s Rospotrebnadzor of 23 Svetofor supermarkets brought disappointing results. In all the stores visited by the inspectors, numerous gross violations of the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological rules were revealed. So, food products with expired expiration dates, in torn packaging, were released from the shelves. Goods were sold without accompanying documentation, with incomplete or illegible markings.

When storing products, violations were also revealed: employees did not comply with warehousing standards, temperature conditions and the rules of the commodity neighborhood. The auditors found that frozen meat, fish and poultry were defrosted.

The sanitary and technical condition and maintenance of the trading floor and refrigeration equipment were assessed by the inspectors as unsatisfactory. In the shops, the inspectors found an accumulation of waste, including food.

In a number of supermarkets, flies were recorded in the hall and cooling chambers: this means that the staff cleans the premises poorly and does not carry out pest control. In addition, inspectors selected products from the shelves to check them for safety indicators for human consumption.

According to the results of studies performed in the laboratory of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in Moscow, more than 50% of the samples did not meet the mandatory requirements for microbiological, physico-chemical parameters and falsification indicators. As a result of inspections, specialists issued 28 orders to withdraw hazardous products from circulation. In total, 14 tons of food products, which are dangerous for customers, were taken from the chain stores. These were goods of impersonal origin – without accompanying documents, with broken expiration dates, with visible damage and signs of deterioration.

For 247 names of juice, meat and dairy products, the declaration of conformity with the established requirements was suspended. With respect to legal entities owning shops, 64 administrative protocols were drawn up, the work of 8 out of 23 shops was suspended for a period of 8 to 90 days.

In addition to the owners, they were fined a total amount of more than 4 million rubles, and also ordered to eliminate the identified violations.
