Russia will no longer rely on imported developments in industry – Kommersant

Russian industry will not return to a model of work based on the import of foreign technologies, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said. According to him, the country needs to increase the sustainability of the production sector in the new conditions.

“It is necessary to minimize the influence of unfavorable external conditions, which means that it is necessary to achieve full-fledged technological sovereignty in all critical industries without exception. Of course, this is a serious challenge for our industry. But there will be no return to the previous models of work, relying on the import of foreign technologies,” said Mr. Mishustin at the plenary session of the Innoprom forum (quoted from “Interfax”).

The prime minister is convinced that the future of Russia lies in “the production of the entire range of its own high-tech products.” He clarified that such products should be competitive not only in the country itself, but also abroad.

In June, the White House expanded its expertise to classify industrial products as unparalleled in the Russian Federation. Along with organizations under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, specially created non-profit organizations will also be able to conduct it. The ministry explained this by increasing the burden on experts. Business, however, is afraid of subjectivity on the part of expert organizations, on the conclusion of which access to state support depends.
