Zyuganov suggested engaging in patriotic education, and not only thinking about punishments for those who left

The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov said that the tougher punishment for criticizing Russia, the departed citizens of the country will not lead to the desired result. According to him, the most effective measure in this case will be economic policy, as well as patriotic education. So he commented on the proposal of the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin to confiscate the property of the departed Russians who criticize Russia.

“Following the path of only punishment and toughening – there will be no sense, it is necessary to follow the path of more effective economic policy, management and educational work – then there will be a result,” he said. “RIA News” Gennady Zyuganov.

According to him, the question is not about measures to toughen punishment for those who “say stupid things”, but about the financial and economic course, “which does not allow us to get out of the systemic crisis.” The politician urged to mobilize resources in the direction of patriotic education in society. In particular, Mr. Zyuganov stressed, it is important to talk about the achievements of the USSR. He also noted that universities do not give an interpretation of the special operation, during which Russia “liberates” Ukraine and Europe.

Earlier today, January 13, Viacheslav Volodin declaredthat the measures existing in Russian legislation to respond to insulting residents, soldiers and officers of Russia are not enough. He recalled that the critical statements of the departed Russians can be regarded as calls for extremism, the rehabilitation of Nazism or the discrediting of the armed forces. Mr. Volodin believes that the confiscation of the property of these citizens will make it possible to compensate for the damage they have caused. Senator Andrei Klishas allowed the introduction of such a measure in the event of amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Viacheslav Volodin’s proposal was made the day after Sultan Khamzaev, member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption commented interview with the leaders of the Aquarium group Boris Grebenshchikov. During the conversation, the musician called Russia fascist, and also announced the sending of financial assistance to Ukraine.
