Medvedev thanked the military correspondents for the “truth about the war and heroism”

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev congratulated journalists on the Day of the Russian Press and thanked the military correspondents who work in the special operation zone. The politician published his congratulations on his Telegram channel.

“What you are doing is extremely important for our state and society, for each of us. You tell the truth about war and heroism. <...> The truth you see with your own eyes. The truth for which you risk your life and health. Thank you for that”, – wrote Medvedev.

Earlier today, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin also congratulated the Russian press workers. He stated that today journalists have “an enormous responsibility to society for an honest, objective and impartial view of events.”

On January 13, Russia celebrates the Day of the Russian Press. The day before, on January 12, award ceremonies in the field of media were held in the government of the Russian Federation and the State Duma. 15 journalists received the government award, in particular Andrey Malakhov. Vladimir Sungorkin, who headed Komsomolskaya Pravda for three decades, was also posthumously awarded the award.

During the awards ceremony, Mishustin drew attention to the “monstrous falsifications” in the Western media and pointed out the responsible approach of Russian journalists to the selection of facts and work with sources. The Prime Minister also quoted the protagonist of the film “Brother 2”, recalling that “the power is in the truth.”
