Zinovieva suggested that the Investigative Committee check the employees of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences

The President of the A. Zinoviev Biographical Institute, Olga Zinovieva, proposed creating a committee for patriotic and civil certification of the management and staff of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN). She called the institute a refuge for “Russophobes and extremists.”

“The committee must include deputies of the State Duma, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin and Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov,” Olga Zinovieva said at a press conference (quoted from “Interfax”).

According to Ms. Zinovieva, she approached Alexander Bastrykin with a request to check the employees of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences two years ago. The reason was the publication by employees of “Russophobic books abroad and in Russia” during the special operation and “activities to discredit the RF Armed Forces.” In this regard, employees must undergo “deep certification,” she noted.

In December 2023, philosopher Anatoly Chernyaev was fired from the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The RAS explained the decision by the expiration of a three-year contract, during which Mr. Chernyaev showed “no interest in the work of the institute and in the work of the sector of the history of Russian philosophy”; he appeared at the RAS “exclusively to complete paperwork.” Anatoly Chernyaev himself denied this information, insisting that the reason for his dismissal was his “patriotic position” and support for the Russian special operation in Ukraine. In 2022, he held the “Philosophy on the Front Line” conference in Donetsk.
