Evgeniy couldn’t cope due to post-Covid syndrome

In the city of Zarechny, in the Sverdlovsk region, they said goodbye to opera singer Evgeny Kungurov. Several hundred people came to see off the artist on his final journey. True, there were no star colleagues among them. There was even a scandal because of this. Kungurov’s fans were loudly outraged by the indifference of the artists, who posted mourning posts on social networks, but at the same time ignored the farewell ceremony.

In recent years, Kungurov has been among the stars. He participated in almost all significant concerts on the country’s main channel.

“It’s a pity that there were few colleagues at the farewell, but you shouldn’t blame them,” Anna Kalashnikova told MK. “Many were so shocked by what happened to Zhenya that they simply did not find the strength to come to say goodbye. Yes, of course, I agree with the fans: Evgeniy did not deserve this. But understand: the artists have a schedule that has been planned for a long time. Many are not in Moscow, but in the regions. Now is the busy time, all the artists are busy. After the tragedy at Crocus, touring activities were just beginning to recover. Therefore, there is no need to judge anyone. Everyone is grieving and worried.

Kalashnikova, by the way, said: she does not believe that Kungurov could have decided to die on his own.

“I’m inclined to believe that these are post-Covid consequences,” says Anna. “We all remember the recent story with the singer Natalie’s husband, who, too, having suffered from Covid, in the prime of his life and strength, for no apparent reason, committed suicide. Covid has very serious consequences. It’s a shame that Zhenya didn’t make it. He was so handsome: always positive, energetic. I looked at him and thought to myself: “Russian heroes are not extinct!”
