Podolyak put forward counter demands to Moscow to resolve the conflict
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, commented on the social network on the statement of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin on the end of the conflict in Ukraine, and also listed Ukraine’s counter demands to Russia.
For this, as Podolyak noted, an immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, Moscow’s recognition of the sovereignty of post-Soviet countries, “extradition of war criminals”, as well as the creation of a demilitarized zone and a reduction in the number of long-range missiles are necessary.
In addition, Podolyak calls for convening an international conference on control over Russia’s nuclear arsenal and formalizing “reparation payments” to Ukraine from Russia.
Earlier, Galuzin said that Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO and the EU, as well as its return to a neutral status, is one of the conditions for achieving peace. The Deputy Minister also noted that it is necessary to recognize all the new territorial realities.
