How Russia will manage the real estate of the President of Ukraine

The Crimean authorities are carrying out procedures to nationalize the property of Ukrainian oligarchs on the peninsula. President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has an apartment in Livadia, was also among the owners from whom it was decided to seize property. We found out what fate awaits the elite penthouse.

In October, the Crimean parliament passed a law that would allow the republic’s executive branch to nationalize the assets of foreigners who have ties to states that commit acts of an unfriendly nature against Russia. Thus, commercial facilities belonging to Kyiv firms, as well as the industry of Ukrainian oligarchs, fell under the law. “Russia’s enemies will not make money on the territory of Crimea, this is a principled position,” said the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov.

How does all this look in practice? According to officials, temporary administrations have already been formed and are working at some facilities. Now it’s up to the Ministry of Property of the Republic of Crimea, which will begin to transfer private property into the property of Crimea according to the lists.

“Owners have the opportunity to go to court, but there is no great chance of winning the case – Russian courts rarely decide against the state,” said Oleg Tsarev, a well-known Ukrainian politician. “This is the second nationalization in Crimea. The first was held in 2014, and not a single owner whose property was nationalized received it back. Among those who lost their property were not only enemies of Russia, but this did not affect the result.” The nationalization also touched upon residential properties, the most famous of which belongs to the current Ukrainian president.

Back in 2013, the wife of Vladimir Zelensky, Elena, acquired in the elite district of Livadia, near Yalta, a luxurious apartment – a three-room penthouse within walking distance from the Livadia Palace in the Imperator Residential Complex.

True, the Zelenskys did not have time to live in the residence, although they started repairs in it – in 2014 Crimea became part of the Russian Federation, and Vladimir Zelensky, although he has been regularly paying his bills since then, has never been seen in his apartment.

The walls were leveled in the apartment, the wiring was updated, the plumbing was laid out, and a new floor was installed. Expensive Italian food is reported to be stored in a warehouse especially for this apartment. It was made to order for more than 3 million rubles. The apartment also has a chic living room, divided into several seating areas and a kitchen. View from the window – the Black Sea.

What fate awaits the apartment now? There has been talk about this since the beginning of the NWO. For example, back in April, Vice Speaker of the State Council of the Republic, Yefim Fiks, made a proposal to give an apartment to “poor children from Donbass or build a kindergarten.” According to another option, the apartment can be sold at auction, and the money will go to the budget of the republic.

According to the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, the anti-terrorist commission is also checking this apartment of Zelensky. “The idea to nationalize enterprises located on the territory of the peninsula and owned by Ukrainian oligarchs appeared in our country a long time ago. Moreover, they hover in the Crimean community, employees of the republic’s enterprises turn to us. The owners of such organizations direct the proceeds to fight against us, work against Crimea and Russia.

It was important for us to establish justice in this matter, it is impossible for them to earn money on our territory. Of course, the list of objects subject to nationalization will be supplemented. The plans include other large objects, ”Konstantinov noted on his page on the social network.

The fact that Zelensky is at risk of losing his comfortable apartments is also confirmed by the words of the Senator of the Federation Council for International Affairs Sergei Tsekov. “Everything that is somehow connected with Kyiv will be transferred to the property of the Republic of Crimea,” the official said. Ordinary Crimeans took this news positively. Many of them reminded Zelensky of the sabotage on the Crimean bridge and believe that the Ukrainian president should not own anything on the peninsula. “Everything is correct. After Zelensky’s statements that he will return the Crimea, the most stringent measures should be taken against his property. As well as to the property of Ukrainian oligarchs and companies. Under some objects, by the way, there are bomb shelters that are not used for their intended purpose, but as warehouses. This is wrong, ”Yalta resident Eugene shared his opinion with MK.
