Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in another video address to the nation that on Wednesday he signed a decree on preparing the earliest possible start of negotiations on Independence’s accession to the European Union.
“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must fulfill all the requirements of the European Commission for the speedy start of negotiations on accession to the European Union,” the decree says.
To this end, the country’s Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to hold consultations with the European Commission to determine the organizational aspects of the negotiation process, prepare and submit proposals for the creation of a delegation for negotiations, and most importantly, submit for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada a bill approving a new program for adapting Ukrainian legislation to EU law.
