Zelensky named his priorities at the NATO summit in Vilnius

Kyiv expects to receive a clear signal from NATO countries about Ukraine’s membership in the alliance during the summit of the military bloc, which will be held in Vilnius on July 11 and 12. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about this.
In another video address to the nation, the politician said that he plans to hold a number of bilateral meetings in Vilnius with representatives of European and American countries, as well as Japan.
The priorities during the summit, according to Zelensky, are obvious – these are air defense systems, as well as weapons for the Ukrainian military.
Sources say that so far the NATO countries have not been able to agree on language on Ukraine’s entry into the alliance. The final communiqué is expected to include a statement on “Ukraine’s rightful place in NATO”. However, it has not yet been possible to develop a unified position on whether to add the phrase “when circumstances permit” and whether to describe them in detail.
At the same time, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said that he expects decisions favorable for Kyiv following the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius. He also assured that “Ukraine’s position will be substantive”.
