Zelensky, after negotiations with Xi Jinping, rejected the achievement of peace through territorial compromises

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel following telephone conversations with Chinese President Xi Jinping that peace will not be achieved through territorial concessions.
He noted that the conversation lasted one hour, during which the whole range of issues of bilateral relations was discussed. But the issue of possible interaction in order to establish a sustainable peace was given special attention.
“No one wants peace more than the Ukrainian people,” Zelensky said. At the same time, he stressed that the world should be “just and sustainable, based on the principles of international law and respect for the UN Charter.”
Following Zelensky said that there can be no peace through territorial compromises.
“The territorial integrity of Ukraine must be restored within the 1991 borders,” Zelensky also noted.
In addition, he expressed hope that today’s conversation will give impetus to the restoration of the Ukrainian-Chinese partnership.
