Zelensky’s adviser announced Ukraine’s intentions to receive $1 trillion from Russia
Kyiv wants to receive one trillion dollars from Russia against the backdrop of declining funding from the West. Adviser to the President of Ukraine on economic issues Oleg Ustenko spoke about the growth of ambitions on air at the national telethon.
At first, he remembered the numbers that Prime Minister Denis Shmygal mentioned in the summer of 2022 at the first conference on the restoration of Ukraine in Lugano. He estimated the damage from the conflict at $750 billion. Ustenko suggested adding indirect losses to this amount. As a result, total losses, the adviser said, could approach one trillion in US currency.
This is not the first time that Ustenko has made odious statements. Earlier, he called on the British oil and gas giant Shell to transfer to Kyiv more than a billion dollars, proceeds from the sale of assets in Russia, if they can be realized. And in December last year, amid difficulties with the EU allocating 50 billion euros to Ukraine, he suggested looking for this money on the domestic market.
