Zelensky actually rejected the Pope’s initiative for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky published another video message on Telegram, in which he spoke sharply about the initiative of Pope Francis for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Independence.

Zelensky called the pontiff’s proposal “virtual mediation,” thanking the clergy who support the Ukrainian military with “prayer and conversation.”

“This is what “church with people” is. And not 2,500 km away to engage in virtual mediation,” Zelensky said.

Let us recall that earlier Pope Francis, in an interview with the Swiss television and radio company RSI, said that Ukraine, as the losing side, must find the courage to raise the white flag and agree to peace negotiations.
