President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Spanish newspaper Mundo accused Western countries of insufficient military assistance. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to Zelensky, if the Western partners had handed over the requested artillery to the Kyiv regime, the military operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would have developed much more successfully.
“I can say that aid is not enough,” Zelensky said, explaining his criticism of Western countries by the fact that “some processes are slowing down.”
He also accused the West of having the right amount of artillery but not wanting to give it to Ukraine. According to him, Ukraine has a “powerful army” that would be able to assist NATO with the defense of small states with limited military potential.
Earlier, Zelensky explained the slow pace of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the weather conditions and the delay of artillery. He acknowledged that the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to launch a counteroffensive against Russia have slowed down in recent months.
The long-announced counter-offensive began on June 4 in the Yuzhnodonetsk, Zaporozhye and Artyomovsk directions, with the main attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concentrated on the Zaporozhye sector of the front. President Vladimir Putin announced the huge losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the absence of success in any of the areas. On Saturday, the British newspaper Times reported that the Ukrainian military was “disappointed” due to inflated expectations from the UAF counteroffensive.
