Zaluzhny confirmed that Ukrainian troops had left Marinka
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, confirmed during a briefing that Ukrainian troops had withdrawn from the western outskirts of Marinka. According to him, some units dug in in the vicinity of this settlement, while others retreated further.
“The city of Maryinka no longer exists, Ukrainian troops have left,” he said.
Let us recall that the day before, after the report of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to Russian President Vladimir Putin about complete control over Marinka, the speaker of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Tauride direction, Alexander Shtupun, made a statement that the fighting was still ongoing.
Advisor to the head of the DPR, Igor Kimakovsky, said in an interview with TASS that after the liberation of Marinka, directions to Kurakhovo, Krasnogorovka and Ugledar were open to Russian troops. He also noted that the Russian Armed Forces will be able to block several strategically important routes for the Ukrainian side along which ammunition is delivered.
