Some of the Ukrainian pilots sent to Denmark to learn how to fly F-16 fighters have completed their training, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny said on his Telegram channel. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The corresponding statement was made following the results of negotiations with the Chief of the General Staff of the Danish Armed Forces Flemming Lentfer.
Zaluzny called the conversation “constructive.”
“General Lentfer said that some of our pilots had already successfully completed preparatory measures and could begin flight training,” he said.
Zaluzhny also announced an agreement with Denmark to start work on logistics in the interests of maintaining and repairing F-16 fighter jets in Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that 11 states at once plan to begin training pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to pilot the F-16 in August. The US announced plans to begin this process in October.
