The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, published in her Telegram channel interview in the “Multipolarity” project, in which she warned Western countries against attempts to interfere in the affairs of Georgia.
The diplomat stressed that “banal, primitive” attempts could have a negative impact on the stability of the region.
“Such rude attempts not just to interfere, but to moderate the situation from within through understandable institutions, … so-called NGOs, so-called public figures … All this is directed from the outside directly,” Zakharova wrote.
She added that the West historically considers “a zone of its exclusive interests.”
“They can absolutely ignore the fact that we are not talking about their territories, not about their, as they think, colonies, protectorate zones, but about a modern, young democratic state,” she said.
