Zakharova reacted to the deprivation of “Rain” license in Latvia

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the decision of Latvia regarding the Dozhd TV channel (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation).
Zakharova wrote on her telegram channel that the Latvian National Council for Electronic Media, “having assessed the situation, decided to revoke the license of the Russian independent television channel Dozhd.”
The diplomat “to help the West develop a reaction against Latvia” collected quotes from statements by the US State Department, the White House and NATO “about how bad it is not to let Rain work normally.”
According to Zakharova, “nothing needs to be re-invented”, you just need to insert the word “Latvia” into your recent statements instead of the word “Russia”.
The diplomat added to the proposal: “I give it for free, use the State Department for health.”
Zakharova recalled, in particular, the joint statement of the governments of the United States, Canada, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Denmark, France, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Iceland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, North Macedonia, Ukraine and the UK, taken on October 28, 2021.
Also, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry cited a statement by US State Department spokesman Ned Price, who in March of this year said: “We have seen reports that the Russian government is silencing independent media” and mentioned the Dozhd TV channel.
Zakharova also recalled the statements of White House spokesman Jen Psaki and the State Department statement made in the same month.
