Zakharova: EU delegations disappeared after requests to meet with Lavrov in New York

EU delegations that sent requests for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly “disappeared from the radar,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
“Having sent their requests for negotiations with Sergey Lavrov “on the sidelines” of the UN General Assembly session and having received proposals from the Russian side on the time of meetings, the EU delegations disappeared from the radar. Apparently, they got the TsU from Washington to lie low, ”- wrote diplomat in his Telegram channel.
On September 21, Lavrov arrived in New York to attend the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (GA). The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will speak at the session on September 24. Lavrov also plans to hold about 20 bilateral meetings with politicians and foreign ministers of a number of states. The minister will also speak with UN Secretary General António Guterres.
It is expected that on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly will discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, as well as food and energy crises caused by sanctions against Russia.
The 77th session of the General Assembly is being held from September 13 to 27 in New York. In addition to Lavrov, the Russian delegation also included Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin, Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzya, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky and others.
