Repressions against Russian-speaking culture in Ukraine have reached the point of absurdity. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova. The diplomat’s response was published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Zakharova noted that 2023 in Ukraine has just begun and has already been marked by attacks on Russian culture. So, the cult cartoon character Cheburashka was declared an “occupier”. Obviously, this was caused by the interest of Ukrainian citizens in the feature film that was released on the screens of Russia.
The Ukrainian authorities banned the viewing of the film in the country. Zakharova stressed that one can only guess in what future heroes of fairy tales and cartoons Kyiv will see “invaders”.
