Zakharova commented on reports about the role of the CIA in preparing attacks on Russia

Media publications about the involvement of the CIA in the preparation of terrorist attacks in Kyiv against Russia are needed in order to remove responsibility from the US presidential administration. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on the Moscow 24 TV channel.

“Firstly, this is a desire to relieve oneself of responsibility, we are talking about the American administration, the Democratic Party. Secondly, this is, of course, the electoral cycle that is now gaining momentum in the United States, and these types of things will be used in their domestic political alignments,” she said (quote according to TASS).

Earlier today, The Washington Post (WP) reported citing unnamed officials that Daria Dugina’s murder was part of “shadow war” operations involving elite teams of Ukrainian operatives. According to the publication, they were trained in partnership with the CIA. According to WP, since 2015, the CIA has spent tens of millions of dollars to turn Ukrainian intelligence agencies into powerful allies against Moscow.

In addition, the newspaper stated about the participation of the CIA in the development of drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for an attack on the Crimean bridge in July 2023. According to WP, the bridge was attacked by naval drones developed “as part of a top-secret operation” with the participation of the CIA and other Western intelligence agencies.
