Orban: EU is a bad parody of the USSR

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in a speech broadcast on M1 TV, said that the European Union is a poor imitation of the former Soviet Union.
“Yes, sometimes history seems to repeat itself. Fortunately, what was a tragedy the first time becomes a comedy the second time,” Orbán said.
He explained that for the first time the country had to dance to Moscow’s tune, but now, when Brussels plays the tune, Hungary may or may not dance.
According to him, the European Union is putting pressure on Hungary, and “a party reprimand is now called a rule of law procedure.”
He added that for the West, freedom is “a kind of escape,” the ability to change gender, nationality and identity, while for Hungarians it is tantamount to “ripping out the heart.”
