Zakharova accused the organizers of the humanitarian conference in Paris of hypocrisy

The lack of an invitation to the Russian delegation to a humanitarian conference in Paris on humanitarian pauses and corridors in the Gaza Strip is due “to the hypocrisy of those who pay lip service to people.” Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told Vedomosti.

“If they cared, they would not engage in political intrigue,” Zakharova added.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov was invited to the previous international peace summit on the situation in the Gaza Strip in Cairo in October. Then the summit participants were unable to adopt a joint final declaration. Arab countries called for an immediate ceasefire, while Western countries called for a solution to the humanitarian problems of the residents of the Gaza Strip. In turn, Bogdanov called on the warring parties to immediately stop the spiral of violence, to provide humanitarian corridors “for the purpose of urgently providing assistance to all those in need” and invited the participants to form a collective mediation mechanism with an active role of regional states to solve problems in the Middle East.
