Zakhar Prilepin, who was injured in an assassination attempt in May, published in his Telegram channel the first video where he stands on his own feet.
“What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, wiser and meaner,” he says in the video. In the video, the writer stands against the background of festive balloons – today, July 7, Zakhar Prilepin turned 48 years old. He thanked everyone who “remembers, prays”, and also wished strength to those “who hold the front line.”
June 29 court in Moscow extended the term of arrest for Alexander Permyakov, a native of the Donetsk region, who is accused of a terrorist attack against Zakhar Prilepin. Permyakov will stay in jail until October 6th. The defendant fully admitted his guilt and, cooperating with the investigation, testified that he had received an order to eliminate Zakhar Prilepin from representatives of the Ukrainian special services.
On May 6, an assassination attempt was made on Zakhar Prilepin near Nizhny Novgorod. The writer received leg injuries and a mine-explosive injury, he was taken to the hospital. His condition was assessed as serious. Its driver Alexander Shubin, known under the call sign Evil, died on the spot.
