Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will host the football festival “We are in the game. Summer”

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will become a participant of the RFU Football Festival for girls “We are in the game. Summer”, which this year brings together all the federal districts of the country.

Festival “We are in the game. Summer” takes place during the summer holidays, from June 1 to August 29, in 32 cities of Russia, from the western border to the Far East. In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the event will begin on August 18 at 12:00 on the field under the covered dome of the Olympia Park sports and entertainment complex at the address: 14th km of the Federal Highway Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – Korsakov.

Any girl aged 7 to 12 years old can become a participant of the festival, regardless of sports training and ball skills. The main thing is the desire to play football. A special program will allow each girl to show her strengths even within the framework of a one-day training. They will be able to practice and learn basic football techniques while feeling part of the team.

All sports activities will be conducted under the guidance of professional football coaches who will show in practice what teamwork is and teach the basic techniques. At the end of each event, the participants with coaches will play a football match at one of the stadiums in their city.

To participate in the festival, you must register on the site. Friends and parents are invited to support young football players in the stands. Participation in the event is free.

Festival “We are in the game. Summer” is held by the Russian Football Union with the participation of the RPL, Superleague and FNL football clubs for the second summer in a row. Last year, 23 festivals were held in 21 cities of Russia, in which more than 2,500 girls aged 7 to 12 took part. This season, the geography of the project has expanded significantly and includes all the federal districts of Russia.

Participation in the festival provides a wonderful opportunity to feel like a part of a big sporting event and get to know famous athletes personally. The event is attended by clubs of the RPL, Superleague, FNL, as well as football players and football players of the Russian national teams. This means that each girl will be able to personally meet and communicate with her favorite athletes.

“At the RFU, we pay great attention to attracting girls to football from an early age, providing them with playing and competitive practice. We develop special methods, design new tournaments, and create engagement programs. Festival “We are in the game. Summer is one such program. It allows any girl, regardless of physical fitness, to try herself in football. Among other things, this program is aimed at helping academies in attracting new players and building a vertical for their training,” said Maria Suchkova, head of the RFU Women’s Football Department.

The festival program consists of two parts:

• tournament, according to the results of which all participants receive awards, regardless of the results;
• entertaining, during which on the playground you can not only hone your football skills, but also go through an obstacle course, paint the shape of a football club, try your hand at freestyle, take pictures with your favorite athlete and take part in a quiz.
