Yusup Umavov appointed Acting Mayor of Makhachkala – Kommersant

In Dagestan, it became known about the appointment of Yusup Umavov as acting head of the capital of the republic. The order on this was signed yesterday by the Acting Mayor of Makhachkala, Nariman Temurkaev, who has been in this status since May 11. Rizvan Gazimagomedov, who headed the mayor’s office since November last year, was again appointed deputy chairman of the government of Dagestan today. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the republic Sergei Melikov.
Yusup Umavov is 61 years old. He is a candidate of economic sciences. In 2008–2013, he served as head of the Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of Dagestan, and was an adviser to the president of the republic. Then, until 2018, he headed the ministry, which in different years supervised the sphere of trade, investment, entrepreneurship and industry. He was elected a deputy of the People’s Assembly of Dagestan of the seventh convocation.
