The star of comedy shows Yulia Mikhalkova went to Baikal in the company of other stars. From there she posts photos and sends greetings to subscribers. Why the girl went on such an unusual journey, she told MK in an exclusive conversation. As it turned out, Mikhalkova is busy every day at Lake Baikal, trying to contribute to cleaning up the environment. Moreover, in environmental matters she has long ate the dog, since she has been dealing with similar issues for many years.

– This story began a long time ago, in early childhood, when my grandmother took me to clean-up days. She and her powerful friends, women with an active civic position, constantly went out to the park with a rake to clean it up. My grandmother taught me to do this kind of work and said that my home is not only a children’s room in an apartment and not even the apartment itself. My home is the whole country. With all its nature. Like in the song: a path, a forest, every spike in the field. And the river! We clean our house and take care of our apartment. Therefore, with nature it is also necessary: ​​to keep it clean, to take care of it. This is my upbringing. So when they offered me to go, I took it with great joy. I am familiar with this, it is close to me, I agreed.

This time we stopped on the shore of Lake Baikal from the Buryatia side in the village of Turka. There are beautiful, long, long sandy beaches that we will clean.

– What do your household say about your hobby?

– They are extremely positive! Baikal is a symbol of Russia, our wealth. Therefore, my household is a little proud of my environmental activities and like to repeat the catchphrase: “Yulia, if you know how to look after yourself, you will be able to look after the country” (smiles).

– Have you already encountered any difficulties?

– The most difficult thing is to pull the tires out of the water. They are heavy and slippery! But seriously, the most difficult thing is to convince people to follow your example and change their attitude towards the environment. Words cannot convince you here. We just need to show an example. Until you collect a bag of garbage yourself and drag it to the container, people will not believe you and will not follow you.

– So, you regularly go to cleanup days?

– Yes! And at every cleanup I honestly put on gloves, take a bag, help the participants, collect plastic and glass. People look at me and join me. How else! They reason: “If Mikhalkova herself collects garbage, why are we worse.”

When I invite people to a cleanup event through my social networks, many people come just to look at me and take pictures. But in the process they get involved and then they tell me that cleanup work is interesting, it is important that they will now go out to such events more often and take care of rivers and lakes.

I remember once in the Moscow region there was a cleanup day not far from Korolev, my friend and I were cleaning up under a bridge. And there sat a group of adults in their late fifties. Picnic, barbecue, candy wrappers all around… I say: “Men, how can this be, why are you littering?” And they answer me: “Take a photo with us – and we won’t.” Then there was a 10-minute photo session. As a result, the men cleaned up everything after themselves and promised not to litter anymore. Mission accomplished!

So the most difficult thing is to captivate and captivate people with environmental ideas. But it works!

– As I understand it, this is not your first trip here. What else do you remember during your Baikal travels?

– Kiss! What could be brighter and more dramatic than a kiss on Lake Baikal? Just a kiss from Baikal itself. In winter, when the lake is covered with ice, there is a tradition: a small depression is made in crystal clear ice, fruit juice is poured into it, for example, and then you drink it through a reed while lying on the ice. The fruit drink manages to mix slightly with the thawed Baikal water. Very tasty, cool, invigorating and a little romantic! This ritual is called the kiss of Baikal. Remembered for life!
