YouTube is launching a 30-second in-app ad for Smart TVs (“smart TVs.” – Vedomosti) that is unmissable. About this company reported at the YouTube Brandcast event.
According to the representatives of the video hosting, viewers will see one ad lasting 30 seconds instead of two ads 15 seconds each. Advertisers can upload their videos through YouTube Select, a dedicated advertising platform.
Approximately 70% of impressions of advertising materials from the YouTube Select platform fall on TVs. “More and more viewers are connecting to YouTube on the biggest screen in their home,” added video hosting CEO Neil Mohan.
In addition, YouTube is testing ads that appear while the video is paused. In this case, the advertising banner will frame the freeze frame of the video being played.
The video hosting did not name the terms of the update.
In Russia, advertising on YouTube has not been displayed since March 2022. Alphabet (the parent company of Google) said that it is suspending the sale of advertising in Russia, including advertising in search, on YouTube and with external partners.
