A resident of Krasnokamensk complained to the head of the department for the development of municipalities of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Pavel Volzhin, on the air of the TV channel Chita, about the lack of a specialized pool for pupils of the city’s children’s and youth sports school.
She noted that 1,100 children are engaged in swimming. However, they have to do it in three schools whose swimming pools have been converted for the activities of young athletes.
“There are no dressing rooms. These are school corridors where lockers are installed. Classes on land are held in the same place – in the corridors where the rest of the children run. The equipment in the pools is very old, from the 1950s. Filters do not work or work halfway,” the woman said.
Volzhin replied that Krasnokamensk is one of the most well-provided Transbaikal cities with swimming pools, but promised to discuss this issue with the regional authorities.
