Young tennis players will fight for victory in Tyumen

About 120 athletes from the Tyumen, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan regions, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and YaNAO will compete for the championship in the All-Russian table tennis tournament “The Future of Russia for the Cup of the Governor of the Tyumen Region” among boys and girls.
The competition will start tomorrow, August 23, and will run until August 26.
The Tyumen region will be represented by athletes of 60 participants from Tyumen, Ishim, Tobolsk, Kazan and Sladkovsky regions.
Competitors will compete in individual, pair and mixed events, and the winners and prize-winners will be determined in two age categories – under 14 and under 16.
Georgy Mikhailov, President of the Table Tennis Federation of the Tyumen Region, said that young Tyumen tennis players will face strong opponents, but the preparation of the guys gives hope for medals.
