It’s not for nothing that the Crimean Peninsula is surrounded by water on almost all sides – they love to swim here and know how to swim, as swimmers proved at the championship of the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts in Volgograd, where juniors and junior women (16-18 years old), as well as young men and women competed. girls (14-15 years old).

Of the 23 medals won by representatives of the peninsula, 10 are of the highest standard, 8 are silver and 5 are bronze.

In junior competitions, Anton Pogrebnyak from Simferopol won gold in the 50 m butterfly (and Anton has 5 medals in total!).

Egor Baranov (also a Simferopol resident) had no equal in the 100-meter swim in the same style.

And Evpatoria’s Diana Gorskaya has 3 gold medals! She won the 200 and 400 meter individual medley and also beat everyone in the 100 meter butterfly.

In the youth competitions, Sevastopol resident Kirill Veremchuk had no equal in two breaststroke distances – 100 and 200 meters.

Another representative of the hero city, Ivan Alekseev, has a victory in medley swimming at a distance of 400 meters.

And finally, two gold medals went to Kira Abramchuk from Simferopol – for victories in the 50 and 100 meter breaststroke.
