Young hockey players of Karelia have lost their sponsor, their contract has been terminated

SKA suspends cooperation with the Olympic Reserve School in Kondopoga and the SKA-Karelia hockey school.

“In November 2023, the leadership of SKA met with the delegation of Karelia. The meeting also discussed issues of supporting children’s and youth sports, the work of the SKA-Karelia children’s hockey school and the SKA-Karelia Youth Hockey League team. However, this meeting did not have an impact on the overall situation – lately we have seen that the efforts and funds allocated to the development of hockey do not give the expected result. In this situation, the Club decided that it would be more appropriate to focus on the development of hockey, including children’s and mass hockey, within the framework of the SKA Academy in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region and other regions, as well as on supporting the SKA Junior Academy team. and the Red Machine Junior school, based in Moscow and the Moscow region,” said SKA management.

SKA expressed gratitude to the head of the republic Artur Parfenchikov and Deputy Prime Minister Larisa Podsadnik for their 12-year cooperation and suspended sponsorship.

Previously Head of the Ministry of Sports of Karelia Roman Golubev promised to open a hockey department at the Republican Sports School of the Olympic Reserve, so that children’s sports develop.

Golubev promised that by the end of March the necessary documents will be drawn up: “we will conclude a partnership agreement with GUOR and the Olympic Council.”
