Young Bryansk chess player Arseny Kleshchevnikov became the vice-champion among boys in the Asian Championship program, the regional department of physical education and sports reported.
The prestigious competition took place in Al Ain (UAE). The event was attended by 629 representatives from 28 countries. Among them, 70 are from Russia. Athletes competed in a classic game. A serious struggle ensued for victory.
Bryansk resident Arseniy Kleshchevnikov managed to score seven points out of nine. With such results, the chess player won a silver medal and became the vice-champion of Asia among 10-year-old boys.
Together, the Russian team earned nine awards: four gold, four silver and one bronze medals. In the medal standings, the Russians secured the position of winner in the Championship.
