You can now copy a frame from a video in Google Chrome – Kommersant

American corporation Google released An update for the Chrome browser that has the ability to copy a single frame from a video without a player interface. To do this, in the context menu called by pressing the right mouse button, select “copy video frame”.
In YouTube, the function does not work right away: the first time you click on the right mouse button, the YouTube menu appears, and if you click again, the Google Chrome context menu appears. The frame is copied immediately in high resolution and without player interface elements. After that, you can insert a frame with an image anywhere. However, it is still impossible to simply save the image in a file – for this you need to insert the image into a graphic editor or messenger, after which it can be downloaded.
The feature has other limitations: it does not work with JW Player embeds used in blogs. In addition, the ability to copy a frame from a video does not work on the X social network, as well as Facebook and Instagram (the last two belong to Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is prohibited).
