Cemetery staff ready to make an exception
Employees of the Serafimovsky cemetery in St. Petersburg are still waiting for orders regarding the funeral of the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin. But it looks like it’s off today.
The police officers, who have been patrolling the territory of the cemetery since early morning, shrug their shoulders: “There is no information, but there is an order not to disperse. We don’t know when the cemetery will close. We will not expel anyone, no such orders have been received.”
Cemetery workers suggest that Prigozhin may be buried after 18:00, when the cemetery closes and the people disperse.
“Normally we do not do this, but in this case, we will probably have to make an exception,” commented one of the interlocutors. “I won’t be surprised if they bury him closer to the night.”
Meanwhile, people come to the cemetery. Many with flowers. Everyone asks one question: where is Prigozhin’s grave?
An employee of the temple who sells carnations replies: “We ourselves are waiting all day.”
Meanwhile, Prigozhin’s deputy Valery Chekalov, who died with him in a plane crash, was buried at the Northern Cemetery. This is the only thing known for certain about the funeral of the victims of the crash.
