The Armenian Foreign Ministry appealed to the Russian Federation on the withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from the Lachin corridor
The Armenian Foreign Ministry called on Russia to ensure the liberation of the Lachin corridor from the Azerbaijani military, TASS reports.
The document cited by the agency states that the establishment of a checkpoint by Azerbaijan in Lachin is a serious violation of the 2020 tripartite statement and its purpose is to carry out ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The statement says that on April 23, the Azerbaijani authorities, “grossly violating the sixth point … have already officially blocked the Lachin corridor” by setting up a checkpoint “in the corridor in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces.”
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called the absence of territorial claims between Yerevan and Baku a guarantee of peace in Transcaucasia.
The Lachin corridor connects Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, its length is 6 km.
