The Minister of High-Technological Industry of Armenia Robert Khachatryan announced “violations” of Russian television channels broadcasting in Armenia, RIA Novosti reports.

At the same time, the minister mentioned only one episode, which was registered by the local television and radio commission.

“We have identified certain violations that have been recorded recently, including during the broadcast on October 23,” he said, finding it difficult to name Yerevan’s possible further steps. He also noted that Armenia can also consult with the Russian Federation on this issue, and there is an intergovernmental agreement between the countries regulating the procedure for broadcasting Russian channels in Armenia.

On October 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia summoned the Russian Ambassador to the country, Sergei Kopyrkin, and handed him a note of protest. Reportedly, the dissatisfaction of the Armenian side was caused by one of the programs aired on Channel One on October 23. In Armenia they considered it “offensive.” Earlier, Lusine Badalyan, a deputy from the ruling Civil Contract faction in Armenia, said that the issue of turning off Russian TV channels is being discussed in Armenia.
