Armenia and Azerbaijan reported skirmishes at the border, blaming each other for them.

“The divisions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces again violated the ceasefire regime by opening fire from small arms of various calibers in the direction of the Armenian combat positions located in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” – reported today at the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

According to the Armenian department, the fire of the Azerbaijani forces was suppressed.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, in turn, declaredthat Armenian units from small arms fired at Azerbaijani forces in Tovuzk, Kalbajar and Dashkesan regions. Baku took “adequate retaliatory measures,” they added.

On the night of September 13, Azerbaijani troops fired at the border settlements of Sotk, Goris and Jermuk, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported earlier. As a result of the conflict on the border, as it became known later, died 207 people from Armenia.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported the death of 71 servicemen. At the same time, Azerbaijan believes that Armenia is to blame for the escalation. According to the department of the republic, Yerevan has been regularly shelling the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Kalbajar, Lachin, Dashkesan and Gedabek directions for the past month.

On September 13, Baku and Yerevan, through the mediation of Moscow, were able to agree on a ceasefire. On the same day, an emergency meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council on the situation on the border was held. However, on the morning of September 14, shelling continued. On September 15, the Security Council of Armenia spoke about the achievement of a truce with Azerbaijan.
