In Yekaterinburg, doctors at the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital (RCCH) again refused to prescribe the drug Risdiplam to three-year-old Misha Bakhtin, a patient with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The boy’s mother, Yana Bakhtina, reported this to Kommersant-Ural.
Mrs. Bakhtina said that at the next consultation, which was held on December 19 at the CSTO base, doctors examined Misha and found no complaints about his health. In the decision of the council, which the boy’s parents received today, the doctors did not explain why they could not prescribe Risdiplam therapy to the child. According to Ms. Bakhtina, the parents themselves were not allowed to attend the meeting.
Let us recall that in December, after another picket of the boy’s father near the Sverdlovsk Ministry of Health, regional governor Evgeny Kuyvashev instructed the regional Ministry of Health to hold an extended medical consultation and involve leading specialists in it. The meeting was scheduled for December 19. Earlier, in November, a council of doctors canceled A young man with SMA was treated with the drug Spinraza, which the court ordered to give to the child.
